Kalibo to host PMA entrance test

KALIBO, Aklan — This capital town will be one of the 37 testing centers for the nationwide Philippine Military Academy (PMA) Entrance Examination on Aug. 31.

Interested examinees who want to become part of the Cadet Corps Armed Forces of the Philippines – PMA Class of 2019 must be natural born Filipinos; single; physically fit; no administrative or criminal case; never been married, pregnant, or had a legal obligation to support a child or children; born from April 1, 1993 to April 1, 1998; and at least a high school graduate.

A high school student born from April 2, 1998 to April 1, 1999 may also take the exam but will be processed for admission a year after the test.

Iloilo and Bacolod cities were also identified by PMA as testing centers in Western Visayas.

Applicants must submit their application through regular mail or courier services, or online through the academy’s website, www.pma.ph, on or before July 25, 2014.

PMA entrance exam aims to measure the applicants’ mental ability in mathematics (algebra and geometry), English (grammar, composition, and reading and comprehension), and abstract reasoning (verbal and numerical reasoning and pattern analysis).

Qualified examinees will go through rigid medical, psychological, and physical examinations to determine their fitness to undergo a four-year military training. (Aklan Forum Journal/PN)
