KALIBO, Aklan – Vice mayor Cynthia Dela Cruz urged residents here to brace for the new normal, saying the fight against coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) might still take time.
Dela Cruz said members of the Municipal Council have already been oriented on the new normal, which includes the practice of proper physical distancing and the use of face masks. People who will be going to the Municipal Council office are also encouraged to do the same.
“We also advise our clients to limit physical contacts to any persons. If needed, physical contact should be less than 15 minutes and at the minimum distance of one meter,” said Dela Cruz.
She also partnered with several business establishments in this capital town to set up handwashing stations in places such as the public market, shopping centers and public parks, among others.
“We also thank Kool Earth, an environment group in Kalibo, for facilitating our call for more free hand washing facilities here,” Dela Cruz added.
