INTERNATIONAL Women’s Month is enthusiastically celebrated at SM City General Santos with an ongoing Art Exhibit called “Kami, Babaye – Celebrating the Feminine” which runs from March 3-14, 2022. The exhibit features the artworks of two talented young women – one, a Millennial, and the other, a Generation Z!
Amidst the global pandemic that changes our lives in many ways, these ladies have already advocated and shared their talents with many of us.
Jezza Mae Nuñez-Fuentes has been recognized by the National Commission for Culture and the Arts as a SinengSining Gawad Grantee in 2021. Her journey as a resource speaker in different workshops facilitated by the local government unit and other private institutions has inspired and moved local traditional artists and empowered more art enthusiasts to hone their craft.
Meanwhile, Susana Felicidad Tambasacan has won praise and admiration after having been granted the Outstanding Mentee Awardee 2021 by Art Show Philippines’ 1st Online Mentoring Program, encouraging students across the nation, with her sheer talent through continuous practice. Her artworks have been featured at the ASEAN Youth Forum Yuwana Zine and many other art scenes.
As an enthusiast of Fine Arts, myself, I would also like to highlight other young women from General Santos City who likewise render art workshops such as Paula Writes – her murals in many local establishments are wonderfully executed! I am excited to meet and greet more!
These women already started a revolution on behalf the new generation of local artists inspiring them to pursue their artistry amidst pressures from school life and financial setbacks. They have attained success not only because of talent, but because their family and friends support them.
Finally, choose the right path and be passionate about it! A dream without taking action will remain a dream. Thus, take the first step! – Shiloh Ruthie Sales Canlas

On Sunday, I decided to attend the Sunday Service in Polomolok, South Cotabato because I wanted a new scenery and a new place to dine! As we approached Polomolok, we drove slowly, and I wasn’t disappointed! I saw this handsome nook along the Highway whereupon I made a mental note to return for lunch.
When we returned for lunch, I was delighted by the plants and breezy ambience. We ordered native manok adobo because I haven’t eaten native manok for quite some time.
I explored the garden, took photos, and seeing the ladies dining, I requested to photograph as well. I couldn’t resist it, haha! I had an enjoyable lunch.
Really, we just need to be open to the surprises that the day will usher in.

Last week was grand for me. Not only was it full of activities in relation to my present journey and consistent advocacy, but my emotional bank was filled to the brim as well. Girl, am I blessed!
So, on Sunday, I drove out for a whiff of fresh air and following the natural order of things, counted my blessings.
2022 opens new opportunities career wise, paves the way for the fresh start I am praying for, connects me to new people, and clearly illustrates to me that during a crucial journey, our friends and family will converge to communicate their love and support unconditionally. I’m just blown away!
And it’s only March! I am excited for the months to come!

I have two more editions left for Woman Talk with Belinda Sales Canlas. March 19 is my last broadcast on account of the local campaign period which will commence on March 25, 2022. This early, I can already feel the loneliness of missing the talk show; of not being able to engage my listeners and viewers who have followed me since September 2021.
I hope to find a way to continue engaging my viewers and listeners via FB Live. I will announce it soon. In the meantime, you can continue reading my posts and respond as you desire.

Apart from dishonesty, I also detest hypocrisy. Yes, hypocrites who make us believe that they are clean and aboveboard, but they are no different than the traditional politicians who take advantage of their posts’ perks.
You should be booted out from office! Stop pretending that you are holier than thou.
