THE Kasadyahan sa Kabanwahanan competition of the Dinagyang Festival 2025 opened with a festive flair on January 9.
Iloilo’s Gov. Arthur Defensor Jr. highlighted the significance of the Kasadyahan sa Kabanwahanan as more than just a celebration of culture, skills and talent. The festival, he emphasized, serves as a platform to showcase Iloilo as a “Fun, Foodie, Friendly” destination under the banner of a Bagong Pilipinas.
The vibrant festivities bring together the rich heritage and traditions of the province, reinforcing Iloilo’s status as a must-visit cultural haven.
Allan Ryan Tan, the president of the Iloilo Festivals Foundation Inc. (IFFI), said the opening salvo was a stunning spectacle that left audiences in awe.
With colorful costumes, rhythmic drum beats and a palpable sense of camaraderie, the Kasadyahan sa Kabanwahanan opening salvo set the stage for what promises to be a spectacular festival season celebrating Iloilo’s rich cultural tapestry.
