NINE tribes will put in the spotlight the “Fun, Foodie, and Friendly” Iloilo province this Kasadyahan sa Kabanwahanan 2024.
For the first time, the provincial government, headed by Gov. Arthur Defensor Jr., has been tasked by the Iloilo Festivals Foundation, Inc. (IFFI) to host and manage one of the major events of the Dinagyang Festival 2024.
Kasadyahan sa Kabanwahanan is slated for Jan. 27, 2024, a day before the highlight Dinagyang Tribes competition.
“We try our best to show you a level-up version of the province’s festivals. We will show fun, foodie, and friendly Iloilo through the Kasadyahan sa Kabanwahanan,” said Defensor.
The provincial government hosting Kasadyahan sa Kabanwahanan 2024 is an opportunity to showcase the beauty of tourism in various municipalities in Iloilo to the entire Philippines and even outside the country.
“Thank you to the city government and Mayor Jerry Treñas for having us, giving us the chance to interface in Iloilo City, and to show the world what the province of Iloilo is,” Defensor added.
Provincial Tourism Officer Gilbert Marin disclosed that each tribe was given a P1 million subsidy by the provincial government to revamp their performances.
The grand champion of Kasadyahan sa Kabanwahanan 2024 will receive P500,000; P350,000 for 2nd place; P200,000 for 3rd place; and P50,000 consolation prizes for the remaining tribes.
USWAG Ilonggo party-list Rep. James “Jojo” Ang Jr. also pledged P10 million worth of infrastructure for the winning municipality.
Last Kasadyahan Festival 2023, the Hirinugyaw-Suguidanonay Festival of Calinog bested seven other tribes./PN
