ILOILO City – After nearly two years, Kaya Futbol Club-Iloilo is set to return to the Iloilo Sports Complex this November for home games in the ongoing 2022-2023 Philippines Football League season.
The Iloilo City-based football club announced the development on their social media pages following the recent signing of a fresh three-year of partnership between Kaya-Iloilo and the Province of Iloilo.
Team captain Jovin Bedic, who hails from Barotac Nuevo, said the renewed partnership between Kaya-Iloilo and the Iloilo Province bodes well with the football club’s plan of developing more Ilonggo talents.
“Very happy ang Kaya Futbol Club na na-extend tayo ng three years kasi marami pa tayong magagawa na football programs dito sa Iloilo,” said Bedic. “Personally, very proud ako sa partnership kasi pride natin itong taga-Iloilo.”
“Napakarami at napakaganda ng programs ng Kaya Futbol Club, mag-start na ‘yung coaching course sa hometown ko Barotac Nuevo and hopefully madami ang pumunta para makatulong tayo,” he added.
“Part din ng program namin sa Kaya-Iloilo is to train more young players here sa Iloilo na pwede nating madala sa Manila or pwedeng maging part ng team in the future,” he further said.
Jhan Jesus Melliza, who hails from Igbaras town in this province, was also happy with the renewed memorandum of agreement signed between the Iloilo Province and his football club.
“Nagpapasalamat ako sa lahat ng mga Ilonggo na nagsuporta sa amin, syempre nire-represent namin ang Iloilo, syempre excited kami makakuha ng kampeonato at magdaog sa mga games namin sa Iloilo,” Melliza said.
“Naalala ko nung nag-start pa lang ako sa football, self-training lang ako with my dad at brother kaya sa partnership na ito ng Iloilo Province at ng Kaya, may opportunity tayo na makatulong sa mga younger Ilonggos,” he added.
In the ongoing 2022-2023 PFL Season, the Iloilo City-based football club sits atop the standings with 12 points after winning all of their four matches so far./PN
