Kaya-Iloilo, Ceres-Negros compete in PFL today

MANILA – Kaya Futbol Club-Iloilo and Ceres-Negros FC will immediately be in action when the 2019 Philippines Football League (PFL) kicks off today at the Rizal Memorial Football Stadium.

The Iloilo City-based football club will face Green Archers United FC at 4 p.m. while the Negrense booters will take on Stallion-Laguna FC at 7 p.m.

The PFL made a return as the country’s domestic league following the issues that confronted the defunct Philippine Premier League (PPL) after just one play date last month.

The PPL was forced to fold after it denied the licensing applications to Philippine Air Force FC and Mendiola FC 1991. Both squads are now good to go in the PFL after being given provisional club licenses by the Philippine Football Federation (PFF).

Other competing teams in the PFL reboot are Stallion-Laguna and Global Makati FC.

Just like in the previous season, the PFL will have two conferences with the first being the League and the Copa Paulino Alcantara, where the teams will fight among their group mates./PN
