KAYA Futbol Club-Iloilo makes its 2019 Asian Football Confederation Cup debut as it battles Lao Toyota FC of Laos tonight at the New Laos National Stadium in Vientiane, Laos.
Game time is set at 7:30 p.m. The Iloilo-based football club will mark its return to the AFC Cup stage for the first time since 2016, when the squad reached all the way to the playoffs round.
Kaya Iloilo head coach Noel Marcaida told Panay News that they have a good training camp ahead of their AFC Cup campaign but is still wary of their chances against the home team.
āOur preparation was good. My players are focused and excited for our first AFC Cup game,ā Marcaida said. āItās going to be an interesting game, we are taking this game as an opportunity to show our level of play.ā
He added: āBut it is their home court advantage and for sure they will come out aggressive. But if everything we have planned goes into place, we are positive that we can get a positive result.ā
Marcaida also said they are set to parade in the match their new recruits in Louis Michael Casas, Tyler Matas, Darryl Roberts, Yannick Tuazon, and former Philippine Azkals mainstay Simone Rota.
