MANILA – Kaya Futbol Club-Iloilo hopes to get back on the winning track. It faces Philippine Air Force FC in the 2019 Philippines Football League today at the Biñan Football Stadium in Laguna.
The match is slated at 4 p.m. with Kaya-Iloilo hoping to improve its 22 points (seven wins, one draw, two losses) behind defending champions Ceres-Negros FC (28 points).
The Philippine Air Force, on the other hand, will try to move up from its current sixth place in the standings with four points (one win, one draw, nine losses).
The Ilonggos were fresh from a heart-breaking 1-0 defeat in the hands of regional rivals Ceres-Negros last week after struggling to score in the multiple opportunities in the second half.
On top of that, Kaya-Iloilo will march into their match against Philippine Air Force minus Ilonggo veteran Jovin Bedic who was tagged with two yellow cards in their loss to Ceres-Negros.
The Air Force, meanwhile, is also on a slump the past few weeks with its latest a 4-0 defeat to the Green Archers United FC, where Negrense Christian Pasilan had two goals.
In the first encounter between the two teams on June 29, Kaya-Iloilo cruised to a 5-0 victory against the Air Force with goal hits from Bedic, Jordan Mintah, Alfred Osei, and Darryl Roberts./PN
