SINCE Day 1, the mantra in the corporate boardroom and executive offices down to the customer service and frontliners of MORE Power is “Keep the customer satisfied”.
It’s quite obvious really. Just look at the ongoing and probably never-ending improvements and rehabilitation of “I Am Iloilo City’s” power distribution system. It would seem that MORE Power is never satisfied with yesterday’s work and aims to do it better and if not the best the following day.
The investments already in place with more (pun intended) coming i.e. new substations and state-of-the-art control center are all being done to keep the customer satisfied.
And then we have this just recently (excerpts from the Oct. 3, 2022 issue of Panay News):
MORE Power vows accurate meter readings
Power consumers here are assured of accurate electric meter readings, thanks to modern technology.
MORE Electric and Power Corporation (MORE Power), the city’s sole power distributor, has invested in a state-of-the-art meter test bench to achieve this.
This five-position test bench has the capability of testing five power meters in three minutes, and a portable desktop meter test station can be brought to different sites during fieldwork, according to Engineer Emil Joseph Cahuya, assistant manager of MORE Power’s metering department.
Whenever MORE purchases a new set of electric meters, the company’s metering department could check individually each meter if it is defective or it is not calibrated correctly.
Through this, MORE Power could ensure that each meter reading is accurate. Likewise, each consumer is guaranteed the accuracy of the reading of their actual electricity usage, which is the basis of the bill that they receive.
Engineer Bailey Del Castillo, MORE Power’s Senior AVP for Network Operations, confirmed that ERC already approved their meter laboratory and that the new equipment was also certified accurate by the regulators.
“We are now an ERC-certified meter laboratory. This means all of the equipment we are using conforms to the standards set by the government. These meter test benches, including the portable meters, are certified by our regulators.”
It is a must that MORE Power has to invest with this state-of-the-art equipment, considering that when it took over some two years ago it had to replace more than 30,000 damaged and inaccurate electric meters, and the fact that it has now more than 87,000 subscribers.
Also, consider this – from 134 jumper-free barangays in 2021 it has now ballooned to 165 this 2022, all because of the constant implementation of the MORE Protek initiative.
All this, of course, aims to assure the customer/subscriber of a better power distribution and stable electricity./PN
