MANILA – Ilonggo Kiefer Ravena delivered a strong offensive performance, leading Shiga Lakes to a 94-81 victory over Aomori Wat’s in Japan B.League Division 2 at the Tsugaru City General Gymnasium over the weekend.

The former NLEX Road Warriors guard tallied 16 points on a 50-percent field goal shooting to go with six assists, five rebounds, and one block as the Lakes improved to 8-6.

Ryan Kriener led the way with a double-double of 37 points and 19 rebounds; Koya Kawamata chipped in 11 markers; and Justin Burrell ended up with 10 points for the Lakes.

Lakes head coach Dabby Gomez praised his players defensive effort against the higher-ranked Aomori, hoping that this will signal a longer winning run for his squad.

“At the start of the season, we were having a hard time against the top teams here in Division 2, but we had a solid performance against Aomori,” Gomez said in a post-game interview.

“I think, with Kriener, we were able to dominate in terms of rebounding throughout the match. It was a great victory for us as we were able to dominate them almost in all aspects,” he added.

Jordan Hamilton finished with a double-double of 23 points and 12 rebounds; Yuichi Ikeda added 12 markers; and Patrik Auda and Keisuke Aita ended with 11 each as Aomori dropped to 9-5.

Meanwhile, Roosevelt Adams made a valuable contribution off the bench as Yamagata Wyverns exacted their revenge on Veltex Shizuoka with a 94-92 victory at the Yamagata City General Sports Center.

The former Terrafirma Dyip guard had near double-double numbers of 10 points and nine rebounds to go with one assist as the Wyverns secured their seventh win in 15 matches.

It was just the second game for the former PBA top overall pick for the Wyverns after tallying seven points during Yamagata’s 80-66 defeat to Shizuoka last Saturday./PN
