MANILA – Ilonggo Kiefer Ravena had another poor shooting but Shiga Lakestars still scored a 95-72 victory over Kyoto Hannaryz in the 2021-2022 Japan B.League on Sunday at the Kyoto City Gymnasium.

The former Ateneo de Manila University Blue Eagles star finished with just six points, all in the third quarter, to go with four rebounds and three assists.

The Lakestars moved up to 5-1 win-loss slate.

Holding to a slim 42-41 advantage at the half, Ravena and the Lakestars unloaded a massive 28-3 scoring blast in the third quarter, breaking the game wide open for a 70-51 lead.

With the lead already insurmountable, the Lakestars opted to rest their starters, including Ravena, as their lead over Hannaryz ballooned to its largest of the match at 23 points.

Sean O’Mara spearheaded the offense for the Lakestars with 22 points, 15 rebounds and three assists. Ovie Soko produced 14 points, six rebounds, two dimes, and two steals, while Reon Shibuta tallied 15 points on five triples.

Former NBA players and one-time PBA import Justin Harper led Kyoto (2-4) with 20 points and nine rebounds, as Tatsuya Suzuki got 13 points, three rebounds, and three assists in the loss.

Ravena and the Lakestars will try to extend their winning run this weekend. They take on former UAAP rival Bobby Ray Parks Jr. and the Nagoya Diamond Dolphins at Park Arena Komaki.

Meanwhile, Kobe Paras had a much better offensive showing but Niigata Albirex BB still suffered its third consecutive defeat courtesy of Hokkaido Levanga, 72-69, on Sunday at Hokkai Kitayeru.

The former University of the Philippines Fighting Maroon had 18 points, on 50-percent shooting from the field, with three rebounds, three assists, and a block to lead Niigata, which dropped to 2-4 win-loss slate.

Meanwhile, Juan Gomez de Liano just registered one point, four rebounds and four turnovers in his first start for Earthfriends Tokyo Z as they suffered an 84-61 defeat to Sendai 89ers./PN
