Knicks nab 6th straight wins, beat Pelicans in OT

MANILA – The New York Knicks recorded its sixth straight wins and moved to a 32-27 standing in the 2020-2021 National Basketball Association Season as they overcame a late deficit to score a 122-112 overtime victory against New Orleans Pelicans on Sunday at the Madison Square Garden in New York.

Trailing by six points late in the fourth quarter, the Knicks banked on three-point conversions by Derrick Rose and Reggie Bullock to tie the count at 103-all and forced overtime.

It was all New York since then with Rose, Bullock, Nerlens Noel, and Julius Randle hitting their baskets for a 112-105 lead. Immanuel Quickley sealed the victory with free throws.

Randle tallied a double-double 33 points and 10 rebounds, and Rose chipped in 23 markers. RJ Barrett contributed 18 markers while Bullock and Noel hit double-digits in scoring with 15 and 12 markers, respectively, for the streaking New York.

Zion Williamson finished with 34 points, nine rebounds, and five assists. Eric Bledsoe and Brandon Ingram added 22 and 19 markers, respectively, as the Pelicans dropped to 25-32.

Meanwhile, Bam Adebayo converted a game-winner as Miami Heat (29-28) pulled off a 109-107 escape over the injury-hit Brooklyn Nets (38-19) at the American Airlines Arena in Miami, Florida.

With the score tied at 107-all, Adebayo attacked Nets’ Jeff Green before pulling off a jumper from close range to complete the Heat’s come-from-behind win.

Adebayo finished the match with double-double 19 points and 16 rebounds while Goran Dragić added 18 markers, eight rebounds, and seven assists.

Also, Trae Young had 34 points and 11 assists while Clint Capela gave 25 points and 24 rebounds as Atlanta Hawks (31-26) prevailed over Indiana Pacers (26-30), 129-117.
