AFTER her close friend Dindo Balares confirmed her return to work, Kris Aquino clarified that she is not yet cleared to do any job, saying she is currently “underweight” and that the physical pain brought by her autoimmune diseases is “overwhelming.”
Aquino took to Instagram on Saturday, Feb. 22, to share the latest update on her health, beginning her post with the lyrics of Danny Gokey’s “Tell Your Heart to Beat Again.”
“I haven’t posted anything because I didn’t want all those praying for me to feel sad & lose their faith. May I clarify? I’m not yet ‘fit to work’ because I’m very underweight at 37 kilos/82 pounds,” she wrote.
In a postscript to her health update, Aquino revealed she has been single “for sometime now.”
The actress-host shared that her medical team set strict targets for her recovery, including maintaining her white blood cell count above 5.5 for four weeks, improving her hemoglobin level to 9.5, and keeping her weight steady at 90 pounds (40.8 kg).
Aquino, who was battling six autoimmune diseases, revealed that three more infections have been added.
While trying to add humor to her update, the former “Kris TV” host acknowledged the emotional toll that her health condition has brought to her.
“Bimb said: ‘Mama, you belong in XMen because you’re a mutant.’ Those closest to me now joke – ‘may nadagdag na naman ba sa autoimmune collection mo?’ My ready reply is: “‘CryBaby’ for now ang hino-hoard ko…” Kung kilala nyo ko, songs I choose reveal feelings I prefer not to elaborate on. Having complicated autoimmune diseases and being allergic to all NSAIDS, steroids, pain relievers, as well as antibiotics and Immunoglobulin Therapy many times, the physical pain is overwhelming,” she stated.
Aquino also took the opportunity to reveal her current relationship status after she was previously rumored to be dating a general surgeon.
“I’ve always been honest with all of you, for some time now I have been single, no boyfriend so clearly no fiancé. I never gave details while we were a couple so it makes no sense to elaborate now. Thank you for your love and concern,” she ended her post.
The 54-year-old actress and host recently returned to the Philippines with 11 companions including her youngest son Bimby and her rumored doctor boyfriend.
