KRIS Aquino shared another update on her health condition after flying to the US last year.
She previously gave her last health update last January when she was admitted to a hospital for diagnosis and treatment.
The 52-year-old vlogger and actress opened up about how grateful she was to all the medical professionals and supporters who have been part of her journey to recovery.
In her post on Saturday, April 15, Kris first thanked her team of doctors whom she described as “excellent” health professionals who found her the right treatment she needs.
“This is an overdue GRATITUDE post. I know it’s because of your prayers that God helped lead me to an excellent team of doctors: Dr. Sudhir Gupta, his daughter Dr. Malika Gupta, Dr. Yaqoot Khan, and Dr. John Belperio. Except for Dr. Malika who has her own private clinic, Dr. Gupta is with UCI while Dr Khan & Dr Belperio are practicing in UCLA,” she said.
“In particular warmest thanks to Dr. Malika and Dr. John for their excellence and real compassion… I have many limitations when it comes to medicine & treatments because of my allergies and/or adverse reactions YET they both found treatments that given time can help me get my health back,” she added.
While Kris admitted she had fears in the beginning, she eventually realized she should not let herself get ahead of her doctors.
She went on to thank her family and friends who took care of her.
She also explained why she decided to give a health update to her fans.
“You deserved a health update because you’ve been with me in this journey, sana ibalato nyo na lang ang private life during my journey of healing,” she remarked.
Meanwhile, Kris said she will be starting a new kind of treatment this week.
“My last numbers were alarming because maraming bumagsak na sana steady lang at yung mga nanahimik (like my ANA titer) nagparamdam ulit…pinaalala sa ‘kin na yung 4 diagnosed autoimmune ko, pwedeng maging 5 or 6, and my major organs like my heart & lungs can suffer permanent damage. Next week may bagong treatment na isasabay sa biological injectable that I’ve had 2 doses of… praying kayanin ko,” she said in a post on Saturday.
Kris was diagnosed with Eosinophilic Granulomatosis with Polyangiitis. This disease is caused by an inflammation that occurs in certain types of cells in the blood or in the tissue. (PUSH)
