ON Sept. 22, Kris Bernal’s fans noticed that her Facebook, Instagram and Twitter accounts started displaying unusual posts.
The “Hanggang sa Dulo ng Buhay Ko” star took to the Facebook page of her makeup brand to let her fans know about the cyber-attack.
On Wednesday, Kris was able to post again on Instagram and announced that her accounts have been restored.
“Good news to everyone. I finally got my Instagram account back after three tedious attempts,” said Kris. She revealed that the hackers attack between 2 to 6 a.m. while she is asleep.
She also talked about the experience on her YouTube channel, where she got super emotional. She said the hackers are from Turkey and they called her on Whatsapp and asked for money to restore her account.
“The vlog I posted was as real and raw as it is, I became so emotional thinking about the consequences of the situation,” she said.
Kris also posted another Instagram update to thank not just GMA and her celebrity friends, but also her fans who even directly messaged the hackers to confront them and to defend her, even if she had advised them several times to refrain from doing so.
“There are people who messaged the hackers even if it’s risking danger upon them as well; random people who were also willing to pay the hackers,” Kris said.
“There will be no chance to get what I have lost. Because of this incident, I did realize how important and how appreciated I am…I go by my day every day not seeing how I truly matter to the people around me. And I am grateful for all of this support.” (Cosmo)
