BACOLOD City – Councilor Alberto “White” Nicor III of La Castellana, Negros Occidental denied his involvement in illegal drugs.
Senior Inspector Allan Reloj, Moises Padilla police chief, tagged Nicor to the drug trade after three suspects arrested on Sept. 15 executed an affidavit claiming they were connected with the La Castellana councilor.
Based on the investigation of the Moises Padilla police station, drug suspects Dionisio Emolaga, Alson Ledesma and Kristan Nillosan allegedly supplied Nicor with drugs.
Their last transaction was just last month, Reloj said.
Nicor and mother Noemi, the Liga ng mga Barangay president, and sister Mayor Rhumyla Mangilimutan called a press conference yesterday at the Negros Press Club building in this city.
Nicor admitted to using drugs when he was not yet in government service but clarified that he had stopped.
He had taken a drug test twice, the councilor said. The La Castellana police station also removed his name from its watch list of drug personalities last week, he added.
“I want to clarify to the whole Negros and to the whole country that I am not a drug lord,” said Nicor. “Reloj must prove his allegations against me or else I will file charges against him.”
Nicor said he received information that he is being investigated for being a “high-value” drug suspect./PN
