BACOLOD City – A man shot himself in Sitio Calapnagan, Barangay Biak na Bato, La Castellana, Negros Occidental, police said.
Chief Inspector Irma Teoxon, head of the La Castellana police, identified the man as the 30-year-old resident Ruth John Panes.
His live-in partner Jane Karen Cordero, 25, of Barangay Sagasa, Bago City, Negros Occidental found Panes lying on their bed lifeless around 8:50 p.m. on Jan. 20, a police report showed.
Cordero said she heard a gunshot before he discovered Panes’ body.
Panes sustained a gunshot wound on the head, police said.
Investigators added that Panes was under the influence of alcohol when he killed himself.
Cordero told the police that Panes was worried on how to pay for his motorcycle.
Panes was also “depressed” about Cordero’s four miscarriages, his family members said./PN
