BACOLOD City – Mayor Rhumyla Mangilimutan of La Castellana, Negros Occidental challenged critics to file charges if they believe her travels abroad are illegal.
Mangilimutan said political enemies were subjecting her to “trial by publicity.”
Facebook fake accounts have criticized her out-of-the-country trips.
“If they really find my travels illegal, they can (take) action against me,” Mangilimutan said.
Her travels are official, she insisted.
“In the first place, I am a mayor,” Mangilimutan stressed. “I travel on official businesses.”
Mangilimutan said she submits all the necessary documents before traveling and these are approved by Gov. Alfredo Marañon Jr.
Every time Mangilimutan travels, she said she makes sure that she assigns the vice mayor to take over her post./PN
