La Paz drug op nets ‘trike’ driver, pal

ILOILO City – A tricycle driver and his friend were arrested in an antidrug operation in Barangay Bo. Obrero, La Paz district.

The sting operation led to the apprehension of 41-year-old driver Neil Mejica and 51-year-old Eduardo Bodiola.

Both residents of the village, Mejica and Bodiola were caught after they sold a sachet of suspected shabu to an undercover officer for P600 around 12:45 p.m. on April 16, a police report showed.

When frisked, four more sachets of suspected shabu were recovered from them, police said.

Mejica and Bodiola were brought to Police Station 1 where they were detained. They were facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Lieutenant Colonel Jonathan Pablito, chief of Police Station 1, said the suspects had been under surveillance for several days.

According to the police, they get their drug supply from Bacolod City./PN
