ILOILO City – A 25-year-old man from Barangay Nabitasan, La Paz district got stabbed in Arevalo.

Edmund Tipawan Jr. was taken to the Iloilo Mission Hospital in Jaro for the treatment of his wound on the right chest, a police report showed.

Police identified his suspected stabber as Mario “Nono” Calanza of Barangay So-oc, Arevalo.

Tipawan was out to pacify a commotion at around 11:50 p.m. on Monday when he got stabbed, investigation showed.

Investigators learned that the incident was a case of “mistaken identity,” stated the police report.

Witnesses said Calanza fled after the incident. Police launched a manhunt against him./PN
