CAPIZ – A laborer from Barangay Taft, Tapaz, was beaten to death on Dec. 9.
The victim, identified as “Mesio,” 51, was at a rice warehouse at around 11:30 a.m. when suspect “Onyok” suddenly confronted the former.
According to the Tapaz police, the 54-year-old suspect was allegedly under the influence of intoxicating liquor. He was the victim’s fellow laborer.
The confrontation quickly escalated into a physical altercation. While the two were engaged in a physical struggle, the suspect obtained a wood and proceeded to beat the victim multiple times in various parts of his body.
“Mesio” was rushed to Tapaz District Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Meanwhile, “Onyok” was apprehended by the local police./PN
