BACOLOD City – A drunken laborer hacked a teacher and her daughter and mother in Barangay Dancalan, Ilog, Negros Occidental.
The victims were in critical condition, said Chief Inspector Nerito Lobrido, municipal police commander.
The 55-year-old suspect Fernando Fille was arrested. He was charged with frustrated homicide.
Fille used a cane cutter (espading) during the attack around 7:20 p.m. on May 10, police said.
The victims were the 34-year-old teacher Leny Tabligan-Magao, her daughter Jellen Kaye, 12, and her mother Leonila Tabligan, 57.
They sustained multiple hack wounds on the body.
They were rushed to a hospital in Kabankalan City but later transferred to a private medical facility in this city.
Police have yet to determine what prompted Fille, a resident of Barangay 1, Kabankalan City, to barge into the victims’ house.
Fille was detained at the Ilog police station./PN
