BACOLOD City – A laborer was hacked dead in Purok Kamatis, Barangay Mambaroto, Sipalay City, Negros Occidental.
He was 39-year-old resident Rafael Sumayo, who sustained a hack wound on the body, a police report showed.
According to police investigation, 33-year-old farmer George Buluntate hacked Sumayo using an axe around 7:30 p.m. on April 22.
Sumayo was brought to the Sipalay City Infirmary where the attending physician declared him “dead on arrival.”
It was not immediately established what was the motive in the incident.
Officers of the Sipalay City police station conducted a manhunt operation against Buluntate, who fled after the incident./PN
