BACOLOD City – A laborer landed in hospital after four unidentified suspects shot him in Barangay Carabalan, Himamaylan City, Negros Occidental, a police report showed.
The 23-year-old resident Reymar Dagohoy sustained a gunshot wound on the back and was rushed to the Lorenzo D. Zayco District Hospital in Kabankalan City.
Dagohoy was later transferred to a hospital in Bacolod City for further treatment.
The shooting happened around 3 p.m. on Sunday, police said.
Dagohoy’s father Renato said the suspects fled to the mountainous area of Himamaylan City after the shooting.
According to Renato, the suspects told him, “Mga NPA kami! Amay ka pero ikaw pa gaulo sa bata mo mag-info sa mga military. Maghalin ka na diri!”
The police and the military have launched a hot pursuit operation against the suspects./PN
