Lacson urged to name Senate staff ‘behind pork scheme’

Manila – Sen. Panfilo Lacson was urged by his fellow lawmakers to identify the Senate staff member whom he claims to be involved in the “parking of pork barrel” scheme.

Sen. Franklin Drilon said in a radio interview on Saturday afternoon that it will be better for Lacson to identify his subject to avoid putting the staffers of other Senators on bad light.

Sana po sabihin ni Sen. Lacson kung sino ito sa Senado dahil kumakalat ito lumalaganap ang kabulustugan,” Drilon said in an interview with DWIZ. “Kasi lahat ng staff natin under suspicion.”

Senate President Vicente Sotto III seconded Drilon’s pleading, saying that the Senate staff should be identified even if Lacson said his subject’s boss does not have a hand in the scheme.

Lacson recently said a senator’s staff has offered portions of his “parked pork” to a congressman, which he said was the new scheme where lawmakers earn “commissions” by “parking their pork barrel” in a legislative district of a “well-connected” member of the House of Representatives.

Lacson had revealed earlier that his office discovered that at least two members of the House of Representatives received billions worth of “pork” allocation./PN
