BACOLOD City – A lady guard was killed after her motorcycle collided with the rear of an Isuzu cargo truck around 11:30 p.m. on Friday along the highway of Hacienda De Fuego, Barangay RSB, La Carlota City, Negros Occidental.
La Carlota City police identified the victim as Joan Ortiz Jacosalem, 37, security guard of Commander Security Services Inc. and assigned to Roxol Biomass. She was a resident of Barangay Sibucao, San Enrique, Negros Occidental.
The victim was driving her Rusi motorcycle – running from north to south direction – when she suddenly lost control of her vehicle and collided with the rear left fender of an Isuzu truck.
The cargo truck was driven by Syrel Datoon Gonzales, 32, of Barangay Ara-al, La Carlota City. The cargo truck was heading towards Central Azucarera De La Carlota to deliver its load of sugarcane.
The victim suffered head trauma and was immediately rushed to Don Salvador Benedicto Memorial District Hospital by the Local Rescue Unit but was pronounced “dead on arrival” by the attending physician./PN
