ILOILO CITY – Tracing its history from humble beginnings as a medium-sized bakery in 1998, Gardenia knows well the everyday struggles of the Filipinos – especially during this difficult time of uncertainty, when plenty of concerns seem out of our control.
However, even through all our country’s lockdowns, Gardenia has remained a familiar daily companion of the Filipinos – from being paired with a warm mug of coffee in the morning to being packed as baon as we head out to work – laging kasama natin, unwavering in their commitment to bring fresh quality bread to our tables every single day.
Beyond this invaluable service however, Gardenia has demonstrated a willingness to give back generously to the communities. As a salute to the modern day heroism of our country’s frontliners, Gardenia has donated almost 400,000 loaves of bread nationwide to our bayanis who are bravely facing the threat of COVID-19 head on and to vulnerable groups and communities in need.
Since March, the company has made available its bread and snack products for free to frontline workers in the medical field in both public and private hospitals, as well as to military and police personnel that patrol necessary checkpoints around the clock.
Partnering with the Philippine Red Cross, the Department of Social Welfare and Development, and local government units, this initiative has reached outside Metro Manila, to North and South Luzon, Cebu, Negros, and Panay Island here in the Visayas, and even as far as Marawi City, Lanao del Sur in Mindanao, among others.
Gardenia’s passion for giving back has long been part of the baker’s culture, in the last few years stepping up to provide aid and relief when supertyphoon Yolanda devastated the country in 2013, and when a 7.2-magnitude earthquake rocked Bohol that same year – showing the company’s sincerity in helping out the Filipinos.
Gardenia is the leading and fastest growing bread brand in the Philippines, thanks to loyal Filipino fans who had been consumers every day for years – even passing on the legacy of their ‘bread standard’ from generation to generation. Gardenia takes pride in their world-class standards as part of their commitment to provide excellence in delivering quality and nutritious breads that will satisfy every Filipino household. As a way of giving back to the Filipino community who loved the “Masarap kahit walang palaman” bread brand, Gardenia reaches out to communities who are in need even before the pandemic.
With quarantine rules gradually being eased around the country, and with more businesses starting to reopen, and more Filipinos beginning to go back to work, Gardenia is one with the Philippines in rising up again.
Gardenia will always be there for the Filipinos. Dadalhin. Babaunin. Laging Kasama. Kahit ano pa man ang hamon, magkasama tayong babangon./PN
