ILOILO City – A man got shot in Barangay Sinikway, Lapuz district, a police report showed.
The 32-year-old Alex Sy, a resident of the village, sustained a gunshot wound on the stomach, the report added.
Sy was rushed to the West Visayas State University Medical Center for treatment.
Police tagged the 52-year-old Joey Chin, also a resident of Barangay Sinikway, as suspect.
The shooting happened around 8:45 p.m. on Sunday, according to the police.
Chin went to Sy’s house to confront him over an issue that was not immediately clear in the police report. The altercation led to the shooting.
Before leaving the crime scene, Chin also allegedly punched Sy – who was lying on the ground – on the face.
Officers from the Lapuz police station were still hunting Chin as of this writing./PN
