MANILA – Negrense Maicah Larroza became the latest former National University Lady Bullpups mainstay to relocate to the De La Salle University Lady Spikers for her collegiate career.
The Bacolod City native, who also had stints with Living Stones International School before, confirmed her move on Monday after passing her entrance exam at DLSU.
“New school, new teammates, new coaches, new environment, new challenges and new opportunities. I am just thrilled to be joining such a dynamic team,” the 18-year-old Larroza said.
Larroza was the latest player to be recruited by the Lady Spikers the past few months as the team is preparing for the departure of some key players at the end of the UAAP Season 81.
Larroza will be joining fellow former Lady Bullpups standouts who switched to Lady Spikers in middle blockers Jessa Ordiales and Caroline Santos, libero Ferlyn Nomil and middle hitter Thea Gagate.
Larroza will also join the handful of Western Visayas-based players in Lady Spikers roster in fellow Negrenses Ordiales, Santos and Marite Espina and Ilongga Aduke Ogunsanya.
Also committing to the Lady Spikers were 5-foot-10 Julyana Tolentino and former De La Salle Zobel Junior Lady Spikers’ Justine Nazareno and Alleiah Malaluan./PN
