ALL eight hours of the acclaimed Lav Diaz film “Hele sa Hiwagang Hapis” will be free to stream online this weekend.
Ten17P, one of the producers of “Hele,” announced Monday that the full film will be available on YouTube from June 12 to 14, in celebration of Philippine Independence Day.
“Hele” competed in the 2016 Berlin International Film Festival, where it won the prestigious Alfred Bauer Prize.
Stars Piolo Pascual and John Lloyd Cruz in a historical fantasy drama set after the Philippines is freed from Spain’s rule.
It was released in the Philippines in March 2016, a month after its Berlinale triumph, sparking the so-called “Hele challenge” of completing the film’s 8-hour running time in cinemas.(ABS-CBN)
