ILOILO City – According to Department of Agriculture (DA) undersecretary for high value crops and rural credit, Evelyn Laviña, the DA does not choose any place or person to help for they serve every person who is in need.
“The Department of Agriculture is very inclusive, so wala kaming pinipili o saan man, because we have to serve the Filipino people,” said Laviña.
She also shared that DA secretary Manny Piñol goes around every region to monitor the agriculture of the region and to helped them improved their farming.
“Secretary Manny usually goes around the whole Philippines so particularly all of the regions. Kung ano man ang binibigay namin dito is also what we give the other regions,” Laviña added.
“Meron kaming what we call the financing support, so nag-papahiram lang kami for crops na kailangan ng financing,” Laviña stressed.
The DA is also trying to solve the issues and concerns of every farmer such as the problem with onion the plantation.
“We give them also a long term solution. What we are asking now from the different sectors and the farmers is to work in groups,” said Laviña./PN
