LCEs commit to provide PhilHealth KonSulta package

ILOILO – Seven municipalities in the 1st District of Iloilo   to provide out-patient care benefits to their constituents.

The municipalities of Guimbal, Igbaras, San Joaquin, Tigbauan, and Tubungan headed by their Local Head Executives – mayors Jennifer G. Colada, Vicente E. Escorpion Jr., Ninfa S. Garin, Virgilio T. Teruel, and Roquito G. Tacsagon, respectively – signed a Performance Commitment for accreditation in PhilHealth’s Konsulta Package.

The municipalities of Oton ang Miag-ao were represented by their health officers.

Under the KonSulTa (Konsultasyong Sulit at Tama) benefit package, PhilHealth members and dependents can avail themselves of the expanded primary healthcare services which include professional services, laboratories and drugs and medicines for the common conditions like hypertension, diabetes and dyslipidemia, among others.

“PhilHealth’s KonSulTa is every Filipinos’ passport to a better health. It is the management of the person’s over-all health status for the prevention or delay of diseases through regular check-ups and laboratories offered by PhilHealth,” said Janet A. Monteverde, the Acting Regional Vice-President of PhilHealth 6.

Monteverde added that the services covered under KonSulTa consist of essential services aimed at prevention, early detection and intervention for healthy living.

PhilHealth members and dependents are entitled to the 13 laboratory tests including CBC, urinalysis, sputum microscopy, fecal occult blood, pap smear, lipid profile, fasting blood sugar (FBS), oral glucose tolerance test, ECG, chest x-ray, creatinine and HBA1C test.

Meanwhile, PhilHealth encourages all beneficiaries to register with an accredited KonSulTa provider of their choice. Members can self-register online through the PhilHealth Member Portal at www.philhealth.gov.ph or can be assisted by a PhilHealth CARES stationed in accredited health care facilities or to the nearest Local Health Insurance Office (LHIO) of PhilHealth.

To date, there are already 31 accredited KonSulTa providers in the region namely: Kalibo RHU I; Kalibo Health & Birthing Center; New Washington Municipal Health Office; Makato RHU; Ibajay RHU I and II in the province of Aklan.  The Culasi District Hospital, Angel Salazar Memorial General Hospital, Barbaza RHU, Pedro L. Gindap Municipal Hospital and San Jose RHU are accredited KonSulTa providers in Antique.

PhilHealth members in Capiz may register and avail of the preventive services in the Rural Health Units of Mambusao, Sigma, Ivisan and Panitan while Dr. Catalino Gallego Nava Provincial Hospital, Buenavista Emergency Hospital, Nueva Valencia District Hospital, Nueva Valencia RHU, Buenavista RHU and San Lorenzo RHU in Guimaras.  For the province of Iloilo, the Gov. Niel D. Tupas Sr. District Hospital, Batad RHU and Lemery RHU are accredited to provide the health care services while Murcia Health Center, Kabankalan City Hospital, Alfredo E. Marañon Sr. Memorial District Hospital, Cauayan District Hospital, Cadiz City Health Office and Binalbagan & Birthing Facility in Negros Occidental.

The signing activity was held during the Healthy Hearts Program Implementation Review of the DOH, PhilHealth, Provincial Health Office of Iloilo, World Health organization (WHO) and the University of the Philippines in the Visayas (UPV) last August 5, 2022. (PhilHealth 6-Public Affairs Unit)
