Le Affair Tinang, redux…

THE USUAL suspects are at it again, the pseudo communists, the useful idiots. The people who “red tag” themselves once again pulled out the “victim card”.

Social media was awash with posts and photos of alleged whole-scale arrests by the police of what the usual suspects a.k.a. the leftist groups refer to as “farmers.”

Not to be outdone are the “useful idiots” in mainstream media with screaming headlines on the 6 o’clock news of police brutality, etc.

The scenario painted by the CPP/NPA/NDFP and front organizations ably supported by the “useful idiots” in mainstream and social media is that there is a widespread crackdown of ordinary, helpless, hungry, and landless, farmers by state security forces.

Nothing could be further from the truth, of course.

What we’re talking about is the so-called Bungkalan in Hacienda Tinang, Tarlac wherein people were arrested during a land cultivation activity on June 9.

The farmers who took part in the activity claimed they received their Certificate of Land Ownership Award title in 1995 for the 200-hectare disputed land, proving they are legitimate agrarian reform beneficiaries of the land. However, they are still waiting for their official installation as the decision was never enforced.

According to local police the apprehended” farmers” used a rotovator and destroyed the sugarcane plantation owned by other farmers belonging to an Agriculture Cooperative.

And this is where the fun begins; excerpts from a June 13, 2022 story from News5:

Land reform chief accuses progressive groups of ‘instigating chaos’ in Tarlac incident

Bernie Cruz, acting agrarian reform secretary, accused progressive and student groups for allegedly “instigating” the incident in Tarlac where law enforcers arrested at least 83 farmers and advocates during a land cultivation activity.

DAR secretary Cruz said the “leftist” groups advocating for the farmers of Hacienda Tinang in the town of Concepcion should stop “using” the farmers to push for their “political agenda” and just cooperate with the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) to resolve the dispute.

Cruz speculated the groups were just “riding” on the issue to grab credit on the awarding of the land to the farmers.

Cruz said the progressive groups were responsible for “instigating chaos” by allegedly destroying property while the dispute has not yet been resolved by the department.

Cruz also asked political figures, particularly Vice President Leonor Robredo, to investigate first before issuing statements on the matter.

And more lies and deception were unearthed upon further investigation by the NTF-ELCAC:

The land used as props for the CPP/NPA/NDFP-initiated Bungkalan is collectively owned by CARP farmer-beneficiaries who are all from Tinang and members of the Tinang Samahang Nayon Multi-purpose Cooperative (TSNMPC).

At the time of the incident, the land is already planted with sugarcane by members of the TSNMPC.

The sugarcane was destroyed by the NPA/NPA/NDFP-sponsored motley crew now known as the Tinang 93 in the guise of a Bungkalan.

This willful destruction of the sugarcane prompted the TSNMPC to call for police intervention.

The police then arrested the Tinang 93 for violating property rights of the TSNMPC and provisions of applicable penal laws.

Of the 93 arrested, 82 were charged with malicious mischief and illegal assembly; eleven were released including four minors, and seven foreigners. All claiming they have no idea what was going on.

The 82 arrested individuals were immediately released after posting bail.

Former cadres confirmed that the CPP/NPA/NDFP is behind this Bungkalan provocation, using similar tactics that led to the Hacienda Luisita massacre.

The majority of those arrested are not even from Tinang, the CPP/NPA/NDFP just used the Tinang farmers, students and other gullible fools as pawns in their game of lies, deception and destruction.

What’s ironic is these “useful idiots” were used to destroy the very means of subsistence of the struggling farmer-beneficiaries of the TSNMPC.

And we segue to a timely development. Excerpts from a June 22, 2022 article in INQUIRER.net :

NTC orders websites ‘affiliated to, supporting terrorist organizations’ blocked

The National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) has ordered internet service providers to block several websites, including those of independent media, “found to be affiliated to and are supporting terrorist and terrorist organizations.”

The order, dated June 8, was signed by NTC commissioner Gamaliel Cordoba upon the request of National Security Advisor Hermogenes Esperon

“With reference to the Letter dated 06 June 2022 from the National Security Council, you are hereby directed to effect the immediate blocking of the reported websites found to be affiliated to and are supporting terrorists and terrorist organizations.”

Esperon requested the NTC to order internet service providers in the country to block access to 26 websites “affiliated to and are supporting” designated terrorists and terrorist groups; CPP/NPA/NDFP.

The NTC order is timely indeed./PN
