DAMION Lee drained two free throws as the Golden State Warriors prevailed over Toronto Raptors, 106-105, in their 2020-2021 National Basketball Association (NBA) Season at the Chase Center in San Francisco, California, United States on Sunday night (Monday in the Philippines).
Lee converted two free shots in the final 4.3 seconds after being fouled before his game-winning attempt. The Raptors had a chance to steal the win, but Pascal Siakam misfired his try.
Lee finished the match with 13 points while Andrew Wiggins and Eric Paschall top-scored with 17 and 15 markers respectively as the Warriors notched their second straight win for a 6-4 win-loss slate.
Stephen Curry, who had 62, 30 and 38 scoreline in GSW wins a week ago, struggled heavily with just 11 points, making just one of his 10 three-point attempts along with nine rebounds and six assists.
In another game, Kawhi Leonard achieved a personal milestone as the Los Angeles Clippers pulled off a 130-127 escape over Chicago Bulls at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California, US.
Leonard nailed his 10,000th point in the NBA during his 21-point outburst in the third quarter that helped the Clippers turned things around against the gritty Bulls. He ended the night with season-best 35 points.
Paul George added 28 markers, Lou Williams contributed 21 points and Marcus Morris Sr and Serge Ibaka ended up with 11 and 10 markers respectively for the Clippers (7-4).
Meanwhile, Oklahoma City Thunder (5-4) leaned on a huge second half rally to pull off an upset over the Brooklyn Nets (5-6). Shai Gilgeous-Alexander top-scored with 31 points.
Denver Nuggets (5-5) tallied their second straight win by defeating New York Knicks (5-5), 114-89. Nikola Jokić finished the match with 22 points, 10 rebounds and five assists for the Nuggets.
Utah Jazz (6-4) cruised to a 96-86 victory over the Detroit Pistons (2-8). Donovan Mitchell top-scored with 28 points while Filipino-American guard Jordan Clarkson ended up with 18 points.
