Legends of Chess: Carlsen, Nepomniachtchi lead after Round 5

World champion Magnus Carlsen and world number four Ian Nepomniachtchi shared the lead after Round 5 of the Legends of Chess Online Rapid Tournament being conducted on the chess24.com server.

Carlsen slammed Peter Leko, Boris Gelfand and Vassily Ivanchuk in Rounds 3, 4 and 5, respectively, while Nepomniachtchi defeated Anish Giri, Ivanchuk and Peter Svidler during the same stretch.
On the other hand, Vladimir Kramnik dislodged Svidler from 3rd place after beating Liren Ding in Round 5.
