ROXAS City – A lending collector was held up in Barangay Santo Niño, President Roxas around 11 a.m. on Oct. 30, according to President Roxas police station deputy chief Senior Police Officer 4 Solon Villasis.
The victim was identified as John Capanang, a resident of Barangay Lanag, Leon, Iloilo.
According to police, Capanang was driving his motorcycle when he was stopped by an unidentified suspect who fired shots using a .45 pistol.
President Roxas chief of police Senior Inspector Armand Clavaton told Panay News that. according to the victim, the suspect jumped out from behind tall sugarcane stalks along the road and was wearing a bonnet and sunglasses to conceal his identity.
“Suno sa biktima, nagwa lang gulpi sa katobohan ang suspect, kag pinalukpan siya apat ka beses. Ang iya gin ubra nagdalagan nalang siya asta maka lab-ot sa police station,” Clavaton said.
A total of P30,000 cash, a backpack and one cellular phone were taken from the victim, police said.
“Pag respondi sang aton mga kapulisan didto pa ang motor nga gin bayaan sang biktima kag naga andar,” said Clavaton.
Capanang is a collector of ASA Microfinancing Corp. which has an office branch in President Roxas.
Police were still investigating the identity of the suspect./PN
