BACOLOD City – Ousted Vallacar Transit, Inc. (VTI) president Leo Rey Yanson managed to gain control of the VTI headquarters in Barangay Mansilingan yesterday morning.
The AGNSA Security Agency was also reinstalled in the facility after a portion of the fence was breached, enabling guards to enter.
The security guards were accompanied by members of the police acting on the order of the Philippine National Police – Supervisory Office for Security and Investigation Agencies (PNP-SOSIA).
There was a short commotion when the police lobbed tear gas into the compound.
Sources said the cops did this after VTI personnel loyal to Leo Rey’s brother Roy Yanson who assumed as company president threw a bottle of paint thinner at several people outside the compound. Roy’s supporters, however, denied this.
Leo Rey’s legal counsel Norman Golez said the police were just carrying out the mandate from PNP-SOSIA.
With the VTI headquarters now firmly under Leo Rey, Golez said the next move is to regain control of the buses parked inside the Dynamic Builders compound in Barangay Alijis owned by another brother, Ricardo Jr.
Golez questioned the buses’ presence at the Dynamic Builders compound. He said there could be legal repercussions if the buses are not returned to the VTI.
Members of the PNP Highway Patrol Group checked the compound on Thursday afternoon but failed to secure the buses.
Police Colonel Fidel Dacpano, head of the Regional Civil Security Unit, said the destruction of a portion of VTI fence was “reasonable so that the 60 AGNSA guards of the company could gain entry and start serving their functions.
Atty. Shiela Sison of Roy’s camp, however, disagreed. The destruction even terrified workers, she said.
Legal action against the police could be taken by Roy’s camp, Sison said.
Yesterday, Roy filed a Petition for a writ of amparo before the Supreme Court against the top brass of the Philippine National Police – including its chief, Police General Oscar Albayalde, Police Regional Office 6 director Police Brigadier General Rene Pamuspusan and PNP-SOSIA acting chief Police Colonel Michael Dubria./PN
