ILOILO City – He shot his neighbor using an unlicensed firearm, according to the police.
The 58-year-old Ernesto Ernesto was arrested around 9 a.m. on Tuesday in Barangay Durog, Leon, Iloilo, a police report showed.
His neighbor – whose name the report did not disclose – luckily remained unharmed. The suspect missed, police said.
A heated argument triggered the shooting, the report stated. It was however not immediately clear what caused the altercation.
Officers from the Leon police station responded to the area and recovered from Ernesto a .38-caliber gun loaded with five live bullets.
Ernesto was taken to the municipal police station where he was detained.
He was facing charges for violation of the election gun ban and Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act./PN
