Leon spikers dominating Iloilo volleyball D-League

CATHERINE Parochial School-Leon cruised to an early lead in the 2018 Iloilo City Developmental Volleyball League (ICDVL) Season 4 after winning its first two matches.

Led by Krystl Lou Cagalitan Capilastique, Jeah-m Pascua, Angelline Cabalo, and Kyla Halea Cabunoc, Leon opened its campaign in secondary girls with a 25-18, 25-12 win over Lambunao at the COA Pavia Gym.

The squad racked up its second victory with Jemima Camit, Marianne Grace Calapaan, Friannajn Villaret, Chazzie Aizhen II, and Dea Jane Canaya leading the attack against Janiuay 25-12, 25-12 at the Leon Gym.

Unlike the girls’ team, the SCPS-Leon boys split their two matches in the secondary event at the COA Pavia Gym and the Leon Gym over the weekend.

Leon boys opened their campaign with a 14-25, 27-25, 25-27 defeat in the hands of Oton National High School but bounced back the next day against Georgia International School 25-18, 25-23.

“So far, so good for our secondary girls and boys team,” said Alma Cagalitan Capilastique of the Leon Volleyball Association. “We are hoping they will keep winning.”

Sixty-two teams are participating in the six-category (elementary boys and girls, secondary boys and girls, open men and women) competition initiated by the Iloilo City Sports Development Division./PN
