BACOLOD City – Mayor Evelio Leonardia said he was clueless on who the village chief President Rodrigo Duterte seemingly referred to in his MassKara Festival speech on Saturday at the Bacolod Public Plaza.
In his message between MassKara street and arena dance competition – school category performances, Duterte warned an unnamed barangay captain here who was allegedly engaged in illegal drugs.
Leonardia said he talked to high-ranking officials of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency and he was told they have no idea on the said barangay captain.
The President instructed the unidentified official to leave the city or get killed.
“I will destroy you,” Duterte warned the barangay captain as he vowed to sustain his war on drugs up to the end of his six-year term in 2022.
Leonardia said PDEA was treating the sensitive matter with utmost care.
“As of the moment, naga-search man ko para klaro man sa akon,” Leonardia said in a press conference yesterday.
Addressing barangay officials in general on Saturday, the President said some of them were pretending to be upright when in fact they were engaged in various illegal activities such as drug trafficking.
Leonardia said this was more of a police matter and he would cooperate totally with the authorities./PN
