BACOLOD City – Mayor Evelio “Bing” Leonardia said he will request for the extension of the Business One-Stop Shop (BOSS) operations before the Sangguniang Panlungsod (SP).
The BOSS – which aims to make “easier and faster” the business permit application and real property tax payment in the city – was set to operate from Jan. 3 to 20 only.
Leonardia said the Metro Bacolod Chamber of Commerce and Industry wanted to extend BOSS so that it can cater to more clients.
The mayor, for his part, stressed that extending BOSS operations is a “usual practice,” noting that this had been repeatedly done in the previous years.
“I am expecting that the city council will not question [the extension request] anymore and facilitate it as soon as possible,” said Leonardia.
Should the SP grant the request, BOSS operations will be until Feb. 28.
Meanwhile, the City Permits and Licensing Division reported that BOSS already accommodated about 6,281 clients as of Tuesday, the latest update it gave to the press.
According to Leonardia, this means BOSS is performing well.
He estimated that BOSS has catered to around 1,500 clients per day since it began operating Thursday last week.
This only shows that Bacolod is indeed “business-friendly,” according to Leonardia./PN
