PATNONGON, Antique – The local government unit (LGU) of Patnongon already received the P5-million incentive that came with the 2022 Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) award it bagged from the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG).
Vice Mayor Thomas V. Bacaoco, on behalf of Mayor Johnnyflores S. Bacongallo, together with municipal treasurer George Fernandez and municipal local government operation officer Naneth Norella, attended the ceremonial turnover and regional rollout of fiscal year 2022 Seal of Good Local Governance Incentive Fund (SGLGIF) for Eligible LGUs in Region VI.
Bacongallo said the aforementioned incentive will be used for the construction of a river flood control and downstream of the Patnongon bridge as part of the town’s disaster preparedness measures.
The project, which was already approved, will be monitored by the DILG.
Meanwhile, on the same day LGU representatives signed a pledge of commitment stating: “We, the local chief executives and functionaries, as primary movers of local governance, commit to efficiently and effectively implement the approved projects funded under the FY 2022 Seal of Good Local Governance incentive fund and in compliance with the minimum program requirements.”
The LGU representatives further pledged to support the programs, projects, and activities of the DILG in improving performance of local governments in governance, administration, social and economic development and environmental management.
“Not only did our triumph with SGLG give us pride, it also resulted in garnering an incentive that we can use for a project for our municipality. With that, we are thankful to former mayor Evohn Nee B. Baldestamon, our municipal officials and functionaries for striving hard to achieve the Seal of Good Local Governance for FY 2022,” added Bacongallo./PN
