LGUs’ requirement for LSIs status quo

ILOILO City – The existing requirements of local government units (LGUs) for the arrival of locally stranded individuals (LSIs) would still be enforced while the plan relative to the new uniform travel protocols is being finalized.

On Feb. 28, the Regional Inter-Agency Task Force (RIATF) and the Regional Task Force (RTF) for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases in Western Visayas passed a joint resolution “retaining status quo on the requirements of LGUs” on the arrival of LSIs.

It is also “enjoining LGUs in Western Visayas to prepare for their full utilization of the Safe, Swift, and Smart Passage Travel and Mobility Management System (S-PaSS) and STAYSAFE.PH.”

The same resolution stated that the S-Pass Travel Management System of the Department of Science and Technology and the StaySafe.Ph shall be utilized as primary contact tracing devices.

The resolution was signed by WVRTF and Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council Region 6 chairperson Jose Roberto Nuñez, regional director of the Office of Civil Defense, and WVRIATF chairperson Juan Jovian Engeniero, acting regional director of the Department of Interior and Local Government 6./PN
