ANTIQUE – A fisherman died after he was fatally struck by lightning while onboard a fishing boat in the waters off the coast of Barangay Lapaz Tubog, Hamtic town around 7 a.m. on Monday, June 3.
The 45-year-old Leonard Minguez Agustin, a resident of the aforementioned village, sustained burns on his forehead and other parts of his body.
Police said that a portion the victim’s fishing boat was also damaged by lightning.
According to the investigation of the Hamtic Municipal Police Station, it was around 3 a.m. when Agustin and two other fishermen, onboard their respective boat, set out to sea.
Police added that before the incident, inclement weather was experienced in the area./PN
