BACOLOD City – Three barangays in the city may experience limited water supply starting this month, according to the Bacolod City Water District (BACIWA).
“The affected areas in terms of water supply are Barangays Taculing, Banago and Mandalagan,” said BACIWA assistant general manager for operations Jenelyn Gemora.
These affected barangays are dependent on BACIWA’s reservoir, she said.
Gemora noted the Bacolod Bulk Water Incorporated’s (BBWI) delivery of water supply had reduced by 1,000 cubic meters per day due to the dry conditions brought by El Niño phenomenon.
The Ngalan River in Barangay Granada, BBWI’s main source of water supply, also has
a minimal water flow, Gemora said.
“To augment BBWI’s water supply, we already deployed several BACIWA pumping stations,” she added.
Gemora said they are trying their best to mitigate the effects of dry spell in the city’s water supply./PN
