Liquor, videoke banned in dine-in restaurants

ILOILO – Restaurants, food stalls and fast food chains with dine-in operations in the province are prohibited from serving customers alcoholic beverages. Karaoke and videoke sessions are likewise banned in these establishments.

Gov. Arthur Defensor Jr., in Executive Order (EO) No. 183-H, Series of 2020 stipulating these prohibitions, underscored the need enforce additional quarantine measures in restaurants to further minimize if not eliminate the exposure of citizens to coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) during the holidays.

Restaurants, fast food chains and food stalls with dine-in service – allowed to open at 75 percent of the seating capacity and a maximum operating hours of up to 11 p.m. – are prohibited from serving alcoholic drinks/beverages such as but not limited to whisky, brandy, gin, vodka, rum, cocktail, wine champagne, beer and such other intoxicating drinks shall not be sold and/or served.

Sing-along, karaoke and videoke sessions shall are also not allowed.

He appealed for patience and understanding from the public to religiously practice safety health protocols like physical distancing, wearing of facemask and face shield and proper hand washing.
