Live-in partners yield P180T ‘shabu’

BACOLOD City – Two fruit vendors were arrested in a drug buy-bust operation in Silay City, Negros Occidental, a police report showed.

Live-in partners Joyny “Negra” Lacson, 38, and Janny Jordan, 42, were caught around 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday along Burgos-Rizal Streets in Barangay 2, Silay City, the report added.

Suspected shabu weighing about 15 grams valued at around P180,000 was seized from them, police said.

According to Silay City police head Superintendent Noel Polines, Jordan is an identified drug personality who surrendered to the police under “Oplan Tokhang.”

Lacson and Jordan – residents of Barangay Zone 3, Talisay City, Negros Occidental – were arrested after they sold suspected shabu to an undercover officer of the Silay City Drug Enforcement Unit for P20,000.

The operation was conducted in collaboration with the Talisay City police station.

Aside from the suspected drugs, the police also recovered drug paraphernalia and P1,000 cash believed to be proceeds from illegal drug transactions from the suspects.

Lacson and Jordan were detained in the lockup cell of the Silay City police station. They were facing charges for violation of sections 5, 11 and 12 of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./PN
