ILOILO City – Around P2 million worth of suspected shabu was recovered from live-in partners in an antidrug operation on Wednesday, December 11, in Barangay Pagsangaan, Pavia, Iloilo.
The 49-year-old alias “Manong” and his live-in partner identified as alias “Ann,” 45, both residents of the said place, were arrested at 3:48 p.m.
According to Major Harold Rendora of the Pavia police station, also seized from the suspects was P13,000 in buy-bust money.
Rendora said the suspects were under surveillance for nearly three weeks following reports from concerned citizens about their involvement in illegal drug activities in the area
“It took a week of transaction until the suspects agreed to through our asset. Alias ‘Manong’ was the one personally distributing it to buyers,” Rendora told Panay News.
Manong was a member of the dismantled Prevendido drug group, he added.
“The suspects are operating province-wide and the recovered drugs were really intended for Christmas,” said Rendora.
For his part, Colonel Bayani Razalan, director of the Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO), congratulated his men for the arrest of these high-value individuals.
“I commend the laudable performance of our operating teams in arresting Manong and his cohort. Your commitment and dedication are truly remarkable. This collaborative effort with the Ilonggo community and consistent operational successes reflect a strong resolve to eradicate illegal drugs in Iloilo,” Razalan said.
