ILOILO – Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) director, Police Colonel Ronaldo Palomo, got a positive impression from mayors in the province.

Days after the turnover of command on Friday, March 3, at the Police Regional Office 6, Palomo made courtesy visits to mayors, including the League of Municipalities of the Philippines (LMP)-Iloilo chapter president Mayor Rosario Mediatrix “Trixie” Fernandez of San Enrique.

Gin-express ko man ang appreciation ko kay nakabisita man sia sa banwa and probably other towns also. It shows nga may pagkabalaka man sia and willingness to work with LGUs,” said Fernandez.

However, she wanted to see the director’s active campaign against criminality, only then could Ilonggos have a sense of safety and confidence in authorities.

“I hope maging aktibo sia kag more cases solved, amo na ang gina-hope ta nga may sense of confidence in the authorities ang mga pumoluyo. It will increase the credibility of PNP,” added Fernandez.

The LMP-Iloilo president also said Palomo should focus on the campaign against illegal drugs.

She hopes for a good working relationship between the new IPPO director and members of the media who have a significant role in the information dissemination of the programs and projects of the PNP.

Today, Gov. Arthur Defensor Jr. is meeting all mayors and Palomo at Casa Real.

It is also a venue to get to know Palomo and for mayors to extend their concerns to the province’s top cop, Fernandez added./PN
